20 plus Kitsap Restaurants show their style, music on two levels, entertainment,
dancing, fun at this adult community party which raises money for South Kitsap
non-profits.
The
Port Orchard Party Committee reports that it distributed a total of $9,800 – money
raised by the 2009 event, which held November 14th at Towne Square Mall. The two
participating non-profits, Boys and Girls Clubs of South Kitsap, and Fathoms O’
Fun Festival Association each received $4,400. A donation of $1,000 and donated
food was made to South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank in December.
Major 2009 Party sponsors of $1,000 or more included Kitsap Bank, Alfred Interwest Insurance, Windermere Port Orchard, and Freeland Landscape. Additionally, 20 Patron Sponsors contributed $250 or more in cash, goods, and/or services.
Port Orchard Party was envisioned twenty years ago by the Gehring family as a way for the community to come together for a memorable party and raise money for non-profits, while promoting area restaurants and businesses. The non-profits participate in planning and holding the event.
The
Party includes live music on both Mall levels, food provided by up to 20 local restaurants,
and a no-host bar. Added in the past two years is a very popular silent auction.
The Party continues, and the 21st
annual party planning is well underway with more surprises to come. The 2010 Port
Orchard Party will be held at Towne Square Mall on Saturday, November 13th,
7 pm to 11 pm. Party information will be at fathomsofun.org, and portorchardparty.com.

The South Kitsap Boys and Girls Club … A safe and positive and affordable
place for children to go everyday. No child is turned away because of inability
to pay. Two sites are now operating in South Kitsap. Children get help with
homework, have an opportunity to be creative and curious, to find support and
nourishment for body and soul. They are surrounded by people who care about them
and will not let them fail. Instead, they will help them to achieve greatness!

Fathoms O’ Fun Festival… For over 40 years Fathoms O’ Fun has been
providing recreational opportunities for South Kitsap and surrounding
communities, as well as leadership and scholarship opportunities for our youth.
The annual Grand Parade, Summer Festival, Concerts by The Bay, and July 4th
Fireworks are just some of the activities and events provided throughout the
year. Fathoms is operated entirely by community volunteers. To find out more

The South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank… The South Kitsap Helpline is a
critical resource for South Kitsap community members in need. Helpline’s food
bank provides supplies to more than 2,000 children, adults and senior citizens
in Port Orchard each month. This year the Food Bank has been called upon to
fulfill a far greater public need, with less available contributions. We are
pleased to be able to contribute to this effort. More information is available

Fathoms O’ Fun Festival association is a Washington non-profit corporation It holds IRS 501(c)4 status as a tax exempt civic organization. Its mission is to provide family recreation opportunities as well as scholarship programs, and is operated entirely by volunteers.
